Professor Jill Downie - Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic

Professor Jill Downie was appointed to the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic in July 2012. From 2007 – 2012 Jill was Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Health Sciences and also holds the title of Professor of Nursing at Curtin University.
Professor Downie is an established national and international researcher with numerous grants, publications and conference presentations, including keynote addresses.
In her role as DVC, Academic, Jill is responsible for the quality assurance processes of teaching and learning across the University: Curtin Teaching and Learning which includes teaching and learning, assessment, Curtin on-line, Open Universities Australia, course quality, awards and grants, professional development, learning technologies; Student Central; Student Support Services which include Counselling, Recreation and Health Services; Ethics Equity and Social Justice; the Library; and the Centre for Aboriginal Studies.
Professor Downie has direct reporting responsibility for:

- Support Services
- Curtin Teaching and Learning
- Ethics, Equity and Social Justice
- Centre for Aboriginal Studies
